ABOUT THIS BLOCK
This block is part of the XPotential University’s Exponential Futures Curriculum and it is free for XPotential Community members.
In this block students will be introduced to the concept of Exponential Ethics. The emergence of increasingly powerful exponential technologies will enable humanity to create two very different types of future – one that is Utopian, and the other that is Dystopian. While in reality society will likely fall somewhere in between these two poles this block gives students the opportunity to question and debate how exponential technologies will affect society and the human experience for the better or worse.
BLOCK OUTCOMES
More specifically this block will provide students with:
- An introduction to the complex ethical issues associated with exponential technologies
- An understanding of the importance of ethics and ethical leadership
- An understanding of the importance of ethics in decision making
- An opportunity to debate the pros and cons of new technological developments
- An opportunity to create ethical solutions to global problems
- An opportunity to reflect on their own ethical view points
- The ability to evaluate new technological developments from an ethical point of view
