Firstly, thank you to Gerardo and the teams at Legal and General and First Abu Dhabi Bank for asking me to be the keynote at the launch of their new Middle East and European emerging technology thematic investment funds, which also have the prestigious accolade of being the regions first.

During the keynote, entitled Predicting the Disruptive Future, I discussed the importance of having an Exponential Mindset and the importance of being able to see threats not as threats, but as opportunities. And in a world rife with disruption there are opportunities for future focused investors everywhere.

At the beginning of the session I delved into the mechanics that are driving exponential disruption at a global scale, and at a rate and scale never seen before in human history, and then I took the audience through a journey and explored a wealth of different topics including the future of climate change and sustainability, cyber security, energy, health and ageing, robotics, and transportation. And given the significant breakthroughs and changes in all these areas, and the disruption they’re all experiencing, we had a lot to talk about in a very short space of time.
