Matthew Griffin is the Founder and Futurist in Chief of 311 Institute, a futures and foresight practice he founded in 2016. He is a keynote speaker, advisor and the author of 17 codexes in the Codex of the Future series, and works with organisations in more than 102 countries.
Background
From the technology industry to foresight
Matthew spent almost thirty years in the technology industry. He was a director at IBM, leading its global Public Safety and National Security and Enterprise business units, and global head of sales at Atos, one of Europe's largest technology companies.
Today he leads 311 Institute, where he helps organisations anticipate change across the near, medium and deep future. He also founded the World Futures Forum and XPotential University, two philanthropic organisations that work with the United Nations and others on the world's greatest challenges.
In April 2025 he spoke at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in Geneva.
