Partner programme
Partner terms
The terms of the 311 Institute partner programme. Version 25 October 2026.
1. The programme
The 311 Institute partner programme is run by 311i Limited, trading as 311 Institute, London, United Kingdom ("311", "we"). A partner ("you") recommends 311 membership plans and earns a commission on the payments of members they refer. You join only when we approve your application. We may decline any application.
2. Your link and who counts as referred
We give you a personal link. A visitor counts as referred by you when they arrive through your link and subscribe to a 311 membership plan (Personal, Pro or Corporate) within 90 days, and they have allowed the partner cookie in their cookie choices. If they arrive later through another partner's link, the most recent partner is credited. A subscription you take out yourself, or one for your own organisation's E-Mail address, does not count.
3. What you earn
You earn 30% of each payment a referred member makes for their plan during the first 12 months of their subscription, calculated on the amount they actually paid before VAT and other taxes, after any discount. Payments after the first 12 months, one-off purchases, reports, add-ons and payments covered entirely by a discount earn nothing. If a payment is refunded or disputed, its commission is cancelled, or, if already paid, deducted from you (we may reverse the transfer).
4. When and how you are paid
Each commission is credited 30 days after the payment it comes from. We pay through Stripe Connect: you set up a Stripe account from your partner dashboard, and Stripe checks your identity under its own terms. Commissions are paid in the currency in which we received the payment, by transfer to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays them to your bank on your payout schedule. Until your Stripe set-up is complete, credited commissions wait for you. We do not hold or see your bank details.
5. Tax
You are responsible for declaring and paying any income tax, VAT or other tax on what you earn. Commissions are stated as gross amounts. If you are registered for VAT and need us to account for VAT on your commission, tell us before your first payout.
6. How you may promote 311
- Be honest: no misleading claims about 311, its research or its prices, and no promises we have not made.
- No spam, no bought lists, and no messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you.
- No paid search adverts that use "311", "311 Institute", "Matthew Griffin" or similar terms, and no websites, profiles or adverts that could be mistaken for ours.
- Say that you may earn a commission when you recommend 311, as advertising rules require.
- Do not use cookie stuffing, forced clicks or any other way of crediting yourself for people you did not refer.
7. Ending or pausing a partnership
You may leave at any time by telling us. We may pause or end a partnership at any time, for example if these terms are broken. Commissions already earned in good faith are still paid. Commissions earned through a breach of these terms are not paid, and we may reclaim them.
8. Changes
We may change these terms or the programme, including the commission rate. Changes apply to members referred after we tell you about them; members you have already referred keep the terms that applied when they subscribed.
9. General
You are an independent partner, not our employee or agent, and you may not make commitments for us. Our liability to you is limited to the commissions due to you. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
